Flamingo Land, the team behind Lomond Banks, is moving forward with its application for Woodbank and West Riverside in Balloch and has hosted an online consultation event to provide details on the latest proposals for the planned world-class tourist destination.
The consultation events began on Tuesday 28th September and ended on 15th October, providing stakeholders, members of the local community and other interested parties the opportunity to engage with, and provide feedback on, the proposals.
Further to this, a live online event took place on Thursday 7th October, providing an opportunity for the Lomond Banks team to cover off feedback and answer questions from the initial round of consultations. You can watch a recording of the consultation event at the bottom of the page.
On Wednesday 29th September a business stakeholder event, facilitated by Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, and led by the Lomond Banks community lead, Fiona Robertson, took place – providing a forum for local businesses and relevant industry representatives to put forward their thoughts on the proposed Lomond Banks development.
During the consultation process, the team hoped to convey its overall vision for the development, highlight its commitment to the community and local businesses, sustainability and employability, whilst also providing a platform for all to engage and respond to the proposals.
The virtual consultation events were designed to be as interactive as a face-to-face event would be, allowing for presentation of key project information and plans, as well as providing the opportunity to share thoughts and feedback to allow the team to shape the plans further.
A second consultation is set to be arranged for later in 2021 to show how community feedback has altered the proposals ahead of the plans being submitted to Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority.
